چکیده

Abstract This study demonstrated that Moringa oleifera seed biomass (MOSB) has the potential to be used as a natural alternative in removal of lead (Pd), cadmium (Cd), and copper (Cu) from water which was justified by level toxicity, environmental unfriendliness, costly nature chemical coagulants presently used. The Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) analysis identify MOSB functional groups present adsorption metal ions. maximum at pH 5, room temperature, 0.8 g dosage 90, 81.77, 70% for Pb(II), Cd(II), Cu(II), respectively. order biosorption preference Pb(II)>Cd(II)>Cu(II) single sorption is consistent correlation between physiochemical properties ions selective groups. data fitted better Langmuir than Freundlich models capacities (qm) Cu(II) were 6.19, 5.03, 3.64 mg/g, separation factor (RL) within range 0–1 showed processes favourable M. adsorbent. results an effective adsorbent studied heavy metals contaminated water. In all these water-purifying moringa biomass, no deliberate attempt been made use ternary system very toxic like Pb, Cd, Cu knowing anti-bacterial system. Similarly, reproducibility, low cost, requirement power source make this efficient process obtaining potable even homes rural settings.

Magnetic EDTA: coupling heavy metal chelators to metal nanomagnets for rapid removal of cadmium, lead and copper from contaminated water.

Attachment of EDTA-like chelators to carbon coated metal nanomagnets results in a magnetic reagent for the rapid removal of heavy metals from solutions or contaminated water by three orders of magnitude to concentrations as low as microg L(-1).

Removal of heavy metals (lead, cadmium, zinc, nickel and iron) from water by bio-ceramic absorbers of hydroxy-apatite microparticles

Heavy metals are highly poisonous in the environment, even in small quantities, and endanger certain species and all live beings. Current methods of removing heavy metals from aqueous media include chemical sequestration, ion exchange, surface absorption, membrane processes, oxidation and revival procedures which have high investment and exploitation costs. Hence, it is significantly necessary ...

Adsorption of copper, lead and cadmium from aqueous solutions by activated carbon prepared from saffron leaves

Background: Industrial development has caused the release of various pollutants including heavy metals into the environment. These toxic compounds are extremely dangerous to living beings and the environment due to their non-biodegradability, severe toxicity, carcinogenicity, the ability to be accumulated in nature and the ability to contaminate groundwater and surface water. The aim of the pre...

Water quality improvement through bioretention: lead, copper, and zinc removal.

Intensive automobile use, weathering of building materials, and atmospheric deposition contribute lead, copper, zinc, and other heavy metals to urban and roadway runoff. Bioretention is a low-impact-development best management practice that has the potential to improve stormwater quality from developed areas. The practice represents a soil, sand, organic matter, and vegetation-based storage and...
